Confluence Project

Confluence Project: I have been awarded a seed grant from RISD (Graduate Studies Grant 2013), and site approval from the City of Providence to develop a public art project that repurposes the kiln as a generative space for social interactions as well as for firing ceramics.

Clark and DelVecchio Installation

This piece is included in an exhibition of the Garth Clark and Mark Del Vecchio Collection at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, March 4-June 3 2012. March 4 is a symposium featuring speakers Cindi Strauss, Garth Clark, Ezra Shales, Jenni Sorkin, Jorunn Veiteberg and Mark Del Vecchio. There will be a catalog published jointly by the MFA-H and Yale University Press.

Rammed Earth Workshop

Durham (NC) Friends Meeting (Quakers) hosted a rammed earth workshop at our land. Click on pic above for link to entire album (Picasa). Images are of a sculpture that functions as an architectural study, at 1:1 scale, of a section of our north wall. The completed study will measure 96″ from the top of the concrete. Material is unadulterated clay rich, subsoil, compacted by hand tools.
